The Thomas Cook Group was one of the world's leading leisure travel groups with sales of around £9 billion (€12 billion), 22.3 million customers, 31,000 employees, a fleet of 93 aircraft and a network of over 3,400 owned and franchised travel stores and interests in 86 hotels and resort properties.

It operated under 5 segments across 21 countries, inlcuding India and Egypt

  • UK & Ireland

  • Continental Europe (Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia and Slovakia)

  • Northern Europe (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland)

  • North America (Canada and USA)

  • German airlines operating under the Condor brand.

After its collapse in 2019, Fosun Tourism Group, the owners of Club Med, bought the Thomas Cook brand.

My role: Content Creation & Operations Manager

Key deliverables:

  • Creation of content assets to support online content strategy (destination guides, hotel product data, images, videos, customer reviews) for Thomas Cook websites, brokering relationships with external copywriters, and offshore development teams.

  • Project management of eCommerce content requirements and relationships with internal stakeholders: Sales & Marketing, User Experience, Publishing, Legal, and pan-UK Customer Care teams.

Achievements:

Delivered UX-driven content to restructure the customer booking journey and deliver key digital campaigns ensuring a consistent, compelling user experience and measurably increasing website conversions.
