About Macmillan

Macmillian Cancer Support is one of the largest UK charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.

My role: Senior Digital Content Designer

Key deliverables:

  • Liase with digital and SEO agency, Macmillan web developers and Digital team for design and build of Macmillan website, project managing, prioritising, and actioning backlog during and post-launch phase..

  • Scope and plan content migration across Macmillan portfolio of websites, co-ordinating web publishing activity across Digital Content team, planning resource needs and designing processes.

  • Develop CMS (SDL Tridion) training and end-user guidelines for Digital and Cancer Information Development editors.

  • Work with search agency to monitor site performance, implementing canonical tagging and managing URL redirects, and analyzing search engine ranking (organic & paid) post-launch.

  • Support end-user and stakeholder evaluation of website launch, managing analytics, and proposing amends based on Accessibility Audit (W3C Level AA) and end-user feedback.

  • Deliver content for editorial and clinical review: Cancer Types: Breast, Bowel, Lung, Prostate, Lymphoma, Brain Tumours), and Information & Support (Diagnosing, Organising, Treating, Coping, Understanding.

  • Support the Cancer Information Development team in the scoping and delivery of projects requiring delivery of and re-use of cancer content via multiple digital channels.
